SMYS Rec Plus is considering adding a girl’s Rec Plus division for fall 2009. If there is enough interest and talent we may form a girls-only U8 and U10 division playing teams from St. Mary’s Northern Soccer League and Calvert Soccer Association. Please check the box for "prefer girls-only" if your daughter does NOT wish to play on a coed team and wishes to play only on a girl’s team.

Please take the time to register your player with SMYS for the fall 2009 season. Online registration is now open. Registration for Rec Plus evaluation is different and separate from SMYS registration. To be considered for a Rec Plus team, a player must be registered with SMYS by July 31, 2009. Players not selected for Rec Plus teams will be placed on Recreation teams for the fall 2009 season.

Players will need an age appropriate ball, properly inflated, (size 5 ball for U14, size 4 ball for all other divisions) proper soccer gear including shin guards, and a water bottle.There will be one or two additional evaluation sessions in July. 

Rec Plus team selection will be complete by August 15 , 2009. Players selected will be notified by their coaches and their tryout jersey number will be posted to the SMYS Rec Plus web page. Players not selected will not be notified and will be placed on an age appropriate recreation league team.

If you have questions, please email the Rec Plus Division Manager at recplus@stmaryssoccer.org. Recreation Plus (Rec Plus) is for above average players who wish to play competitive soccer against other Southern Maryland soccer leagues. Rec Plus teams are chosen for the fall season and stay together for both fall and spring seasons.The vast majority of players are in the recreation (rec) division and will not need to attend the Rec Plus evaluations.
