Help make a difference in your St. Mary’s Soccer community by being a part of the governing board that serves it.
St. Mary’s Soccer serves more than 2,000 youth players each season, and only thrives through the dedication of its volunteers. Currently, several vital roles within the club are open and ready to be filled by energetic people with the passion to strengthen the organization.
The Secretary is a member of the Executive Board whose primary responsibility is to ensure all official meeting minutes are documented and all club documents are centrally filed. Good communication skills are a must, as the Secretary frequently interacts with other board members and the rest of the soccer community. The Secretary also assists in preparing material for the Annual General Meeting. This role is elected by the general membership at the Annual General Meeting for a term of three years.
The Vice President for RecPlus is the member of the Executive Board who organizes and registers RecPlus teams and consults with other clubs who participate in, or desire to participate in, the program. The VP’s responsibilities include recruiting qualified coaches and keeping them informed, coordinating with the Travel VP for combined tryouts, organizing player drafts and end-of-season tournaments, and reviewing the bylaws annually to determine any necessary changes. The VP for RecPlus is elected by the general membership at the Annual General Meeting for a term of three years.
The Rules & Discipline Chair ensures that the St. Mary’s Soccer Code of Conduct is enforced uniformly across the club, and that the club’s governing documents are consistent and up-to-date. The R&D Chair frequently interacts with referees, coaches, team managers, and other soccer community members regarding conduct and discipline. This includes maintaining a database of yellow/red cards and conducting investigations when necessary. This is an appointed position.
